The feeding of the 5,000 is more than just a miracle of Jesus to prove that He is true God. It shows us that wherever the children of God find themselves, God is there in Christ with compassionate care of body and soul, even in desolate places.

Today’s service continues the missionary discourse of Jesus to His disciples. It will be rewarding at times, but more often, very hard, demanding, and discouraging. Therefore, disciples must endure to the end knowing that Jesus endured everything for us.
