Meet Principal Arguto!

Come to a casual meet & greet for our incoming principal and teacher, Mr. Rick Arguto! We will have a space set up in the CLC lobby. Social distancing will be required. Visitors will be limited to 10 or less in the lobby at at time. Please follow the schedule emailed out and also listed in this event post. Refreshments will be provided, but please limit your visit to 5-10 minutes so we can have a steady flow through the afternoon. Come anytime during your allotted time:

  • 1:30-2:15 – ILS teachers & support staff
  • 2:15-3:00 – Boards of Ed and Elders; Council
  • 3:00-4:00 – ILS families with last names A-L
  • 4:00-5:00 – ILS families with last names M-Z

Also, around 6:45 Pastor Augustine will host a Facebook Live Q&A with anyone who wants to spend some time with the Arguto’s that evening (this can include members of all area congregations); especially ILS families that may not have wanted to venture out in person.

Mr. & Mrs. Arguto are visiting for a few days to see the school and housing options as they prepare to move here this summer from Colorado. We are trying to limit the audience for this event. We apologize to Immanuel members who would love to meet the Arguto’s. We will have that opportunity after they move to Minnesota and social distancing restrictions are lifted! Pray for safe travels and a productive visit!

Principal/Teacher Hired!

March 24, 2020

In the midst of so much “doom and gloom” that our Lord continues to bless and provide! It is with great joy that the congregation announces that Mr. Rocco “Rick” Arguto has accepted the offer to become our next Principal and Teacher of Immanuel Lutheran School. He will begin this coming summer for the 2020-21 school year. He will be moving here from Pueblo, Colorado where he has been an assistant principal and teacher for many years at Trinity Lutheran School. He is a 1989 graduate of Concordia University of Seward, Nebraska and has served other Lutheran schools in Colorado Springs and Las Vegas. He is married to Pam (also a CUNE graduate) and they have two adult children. Once the COVID-19 situation has calmed a bit, the Arguto’s will plan a visit to the area. One cannot help but sing God’s praises for filling this great need for our school!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Praise Him all creatures here below!
Praise Him above ye heavenly host!
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost! AMEN!

Immanuel Lutheran School Adopt-a-Student program

Immanuel Lutheran School (ILS) has been providing quality Christian education to the area children since 1921. ILS has always striven to keep the cost of attending school at the lowest levels possible, to make a Christian education available to all children, but with rising costs, there will be some bigger than normal increases in tuition coming up. In order to help keep this Christian education affordable for all, we are implementing an Adopt–A–Student program.

To Adopt–A–Student, an individual agrees to pay $10 a month ($90 a year) toward a student’s tuition. The intent is that every student would receive at least one “adoptive” person/family to help with tuition, and then, if there are more people willing to help, the “next round” would be on a “need basis”. The adopted student would be chosen at random, and would be your adopted student for the year. Your student will send occasional notes to let you know how things are going in school – sharing progress and perhaps challenges, but for sure their joys!

ILS has a staff of wonderful teachers, who strive to give their students the best education possible. Through the annual fish fry and auction, held every April, ILS has been able to keep up to the ever changing technology, providing laptops and tablets for students from K-8th. Because of the small class sizes, the teacher/ student ratio is low, thereby giving students much more one-on-one time with their teacher. This year, ILS has a part time PARA, along with volunteers, to help those who need a little extra help. But, most importantly, all these children are taught about the love of Jesus and about the salvation that He has earned for each child of God. “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) You can be part of that education!

Would you please consider Adopt – A – Student? The cost is very affordable and it can make a big difference in some child’s life. It is a great way to remember a loved one, by doing it in their memory, or perhaps in thankfulness for your own Christian education. Please help to reach the goal of at least one adoptive family per student.

If you would like to be part of the Adopt-A-Student program at Immanuel, please drop by the school office at 30 South Wabasha in Plainview and fill out a form, download a form and mail to us, or submit your information below and a staff member will be in touch with you:
