Are you disturbed that Jesus says you must eat of his flesh and drink of his blood to have life in you? This is offensive to the sinner, but shear grace for the believer. Have some faith in Jesus as the one who endured the scandal of the cross for your forgiveness and salvation. That’s living bread for a living faith in this world that is preparing for eternal life in heaven!
The Divine Service for the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost (August 8, 2021). Jesus continues to unpack what it means that He is the bread of life. He demands that we believe in Him, but He does not leave even faith to us. The Father calls and gathers us through the working of the Holy Spirit to give us bread for belief. This is the good bread that leads us to Jesus for forgiveness and eternal life!
Service will be live-streamed at 9:00 a.m. Check it out on our YouTube channel. The video will be linked on this page when the hymn texts are added.

The Divine Service for the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost (August 1, 2021). We begin a 3-week dive into the Bread of Life discourse in John chapter 6. What does it mean that Jesus is the bread of life? Why do we seem to always seek out the earthly “bread” that perishes instead of the bread that gives true life? While we do need our daily bread, when we also have Jesus, we have bread for life – real life – for eternity.

The Divine Service for the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost (July 25, 2021). What do you think of when you see a rainbow in the sky? God’s Word for us today recalls the promise and the covenant God made with Noah that He would not destroy the earth with a flood again. God’s bow in the clouds reminds us of judgment and promise that points us to Jesus, who perished in the flood of our sins but rose victorious over them. Baptism is the continuation of God’s covenant with Noah to save through water and God’s unbreakable word!

The service for the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost (July 18, 2021). Pastor Fred Morck leads the service today.
One of the ways God instructs us in our relationship together is that of Shepherd and sheep. Those who are given charge over the sheep are to be like the Lord, who is the Good Shepherd. But that is not an easy task to do; a hard example to follow. That is why God sends Jesus to feed the sheep and show us how God takes care of us and our faith as we listen to Him.

The Divine Service for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost (July 11, 2021). The Church begins a reading of St. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians for the next several weeks. This Epistle is loaded with God’s grace for you, as well as what the Christian life should look like. Paul assures his readers then as well as the Church today that we have been chosen by God to be in His kingdom. This is His doing; His gift. Our emotions, our commitment, our successes or failures have no weight when it comes to the gift of salvation. Thanks be to God!

The Divine Service for the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost (July 4, 2021).
Strength in weakness? Doesn’t seem right, does it? Yet, that’s exactly the way God works in His saving us from sin and eternal death and in our daily lives. Our pride and power must yield to God so that His will would be done through His power that is far greater than we can imagine. On the cross, Jesus appeared weak and helpless, but on the third day, He shows just how strong He is and now that strength lives on in the hearts of those who believe in Him!

The Divine Service for the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost (June 27, 2021). Jesus shows the world that He has authority for life – to give life, that is. He takes upon Himself our sicknesses and even death in order to open our hearts to His life-giving grace and mercy.

The service for the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost (June 20, 2021). Jesus calms the storm that calmed the disciples’ fear. What storms are in your life? Money tight? Health declining? Future uncertain? Lots of things bring fear into our hearts. But only God is to be feared so He allows the storms to come so that we seek Him instead of our own ways. When the storms pass, we have God’s peace that is so much better than the fear we had before!

The Divine Service for the Third Sunday after Pentecost. Jesus teaches the people with parables. Some the Gospel writers record Jesus explanation. Some they don’t. Sometimes the parables are difficult. Sometimes they are obvious – more or less. The parables we hear in Mark 4:26-34 are obvious when we know the end of the story; when we know the Gospel of Jesus life, death, and resurrection. Then theses parables are as simple as Jesus. And that’s good news!
