Immanuel Lutheran School in Plainview is celebrating 100 years of providing a Christian education to area children. The school, which was started in 1921, will be having a Celebration of Praise service to commemorate this occasion on Sunday, September 12. This will be followed by a potluck in the Christian Life Center, and then there will be a special service at 1:00 in the afternoon for alumni, students, and friends of Immanuel. It will be a service of songs of praise, scripture readings, and memories from alumni. Everyone is invited to attend and help Immanuel to celebrate this tremendous occasion!!

September 12, 2021 outline of events:
- Divine Services at 8:00 and 10:15 – both will be uplifting services of praise to God for Christian education in our Lutheran School
- Sunday School rally day at 9:15 – all Pre-K to 6th grade students are encouraged to gather in the school lunchroom (lower level) for treats and then to meet teachers (we have two new teachers this year for Pre-K/Kindergarten and 4th-6th) and see where classes will take place. Grades 7-12 may meet separately or gather in the church basement with Pastor’s Bible class for this one Sunday.
- Congregational potluck in the CLC begins around 11:15 (after late service is done) – Members are asked to bring a dish to share (main, side, or salad). Shredded turkey, buns, beverages, and dessert will be provided.
— Special music by “Warrior Revival” (a.k.a “Eldon & Isaac”) from 11:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
— Meet and greet the current ILS teachers, including our new 7th and 8th grade teacher, Mr. Jacob Mikkelson. Stop by to see them all (4 new teachers last year) since we didn’t really get a chance to do that last year due to COVID. Help support and welcome them by bringing a card, gift cards, or useful school items
— Tour the School – use any free time between your meal and the 1 p.m. service to tour the classrooms and grounds - 1:00 p.m. Celebration service for 100 years of Immanuel Lutheran School
— Service of singing, readings, and special guests of alumni sharing memories and the value of their Christian education
— Current Immanuel students will sing - Following the service, there may be a reception in the original school (the lower level of the church!)
- Tour the school and grounds
- Visit with members, alumni, and friends!
